Job Description

One of Infonet's premier clients has an opening for an RPG Engineer. (7550)

TERMS: Contract

SCOPE OF WORK

• Support custom reservation applications, written in RPG (all versions up to RPG Free), SQL, on the IBM-i (AS/400) platform
• Perform unit and integration testing
• Deploy fixes and enhancements
• Handle duty phone calls
• Own, investigate, and resolve reported defects
• Code software in a way that is reliable, efficient, reusable, and well documented
• Comply with company and department policies and procedures including Change Management, Incident Management, SOX, PCI, and coding standards

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• 10+Years in this field
• Strong programming skills with recent RPG and IBMi experience
• Minimum of 5 years RPG experience
• Proficient with several RPG versions such as RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG Free
• Able to use Integrated Development Environments such as RDi, or RDp
• Experience with analytical tools such as Hawkeye and X-Analysis
• Familiar with change management tools such as Turnover and Aldon
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with large, enterprise software systems

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of MQ Series, JWalk, LegaSuite, Confluence, JIRA, Remedy, or Clarity
• Working knowledge of IWS, JSON
• Work experience on Agile methodologies

PREFERRED EDUCATION

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
